How do you use the R2Tray?

Taking CBCT Scan

  1. Inject the heavy impression material evenly onto the R2Tray.
  2. Seat the R2Tray in the patient’s mouth on the arch with the implant.
  3. Take CBCT with the patient biting the R2Tray. DO NOT use the CBCT bite block.
  4. Export the CBCT to DICOM format which contains 100-500 DCM slices depending on the field of view (FOV).

Analog Method

  1. Take an impression of the implant and opposing arch using alginate or rubber material.
  2. Pour gypsum into the tray after impression hardens. Be aware of the gypsum P/W ratio and the working time to prevent distortions.
  3. Check the stone model for any distortions or damages.
  4. Scan the stone model and R2Tray from CBCT using the R2 scan protocol.

Digital Method

  1. Scan the implant, opposing arch, and the bite.
  2. Make sure there is no missing areas by filling in empty holes.
  3. Tray the R2Tray to make sure the inner surface is clear, and then scan the outer surface as much as possible. Getting as much scan as possible makes it easier to work with.
  4. All the STL information can be imported into R2Gate for implant planning.
